Reaching Children Through Horses 

Emile is delighted to announce Adam Short head groom to Olympic Gold Event Rider Tom McEwen is our Youth Ambassador for the Foundation.
Adam who is from Newcastle rode and fell in love with horses at Stepney Bank Stables in Newcastle as a child. He went on to have the opportunity to go on the Young Scholars scheme which was funded by the Foundation giving him the opportunity to study and pass his BHS Stages exams 
Adam then went to work as a groom for William Fox Pitt for three years. From there he went to work for Tom McEwen as head groom accompanying him to the Olympics in Paris where the Team won Gold.
Adam was delighted to except the invitation to be our Youth Ambassador and hope that he will be able to visit some of our projects and speak to the children.

Our projects have returned to school and projects are starting their sessions again.
Delighted to welcome two new projects this term a d have 3 others pending so busy times.

Children return to their riding sessions after Summer Break 

The Foundation is self funding and relies on generous donations as well as fund raising events. The number of projects the EFF funds has risen over the years and now over 40 projects are being funded. In 2022 Emile hopes to raise the profile of the Foundation to help provide more funds and help more children to have this invaluable experience of being with horses. 

Emile is one of the country’s top international dressage riders and trainers and has represented Great Britain at World, European and Olympic level.  He is a list two British Dressage judge.

We are delighted that we raised just over £12000 from our🎄CHRISTMAS BALL🎄

We still have some donations coming in, and what fantastic night everyone had. A wonderful evening of entertainment from amazing band the Fireflies, Magician and Mind Reader Edward Crawford and Pianist Hazel Greenwood.

Fabulous food and thank you to Buxted Park hotel for such a smoothly run night.

Our on line Auction had a flurry of bids at the end raising £7,400 so thank you to all those who won their bids. 

Also live Auction and fabulous raffle prizes for lucky winners! We are still counting all other monies from Raffle and tickets

Over £12,000 raised at our Christmas Ball

All our school projects will be breaking up soon for Christmas Holiday, so we would like to wish all of the children, teachers, project workers and all the fantastic riding schools a very Merry Christmas and look forward to 2023 and more riding!!!

Sherry and Annie have been long term supporters for the Foundation since the beginning and over the years have donated some lovely pieces of leather wear for our events, Maker of bespoke made to measure saddles and  a range of bridles and other leather wear all of which are made in the UK. For the past 3 years we have held our Garden Parties at Blue bell Vineyards by kind invitation of Barry and the late Joyce Tay . The generosity in allowing us to use their wonderful facilities has offered us a fabulous venue for this event and we have had some memorable times there and raised a lot of money for the Foundation . we are extremely indebted to all the team at Bluebell.

The Foundation has been very fortunate over the past years to have been awarded a grant from this Trust - we are very grateful for their support and this grant enables us to fund more projects throughout the year. We hope to be able to rely on their valued support in the future.

British dressage have supported Emile with the Foundation. The Foundation has been their chosen Charity for the National Convention on two occasions and through Southern Region have donated various items for our raffles. 

British Dressage

Delighted to receive a substantial donation of £5000 from the British Dressage Supporters Club.  The BDSC sadly came to an end just before Christmas and he committee decided to make this generous donation to the Foundation.

The BDSC has always been a loyal supporter of the Foundation over the past years and Emile is delighted that they have donated these much needed funds to the Foundation .

The Foundation has received grants from the BEF firstly though the Olympic legacy in 2012 and more recently through Sport England , match funding some of our projects.

The EFF is extremely grateful for their support and which enables us to keep funding these projects.

British Equestrian Federation

Heather who works for the BSI chose the Foundation as her charity to support through the BSI for the year and sponsored our Garden Party at Bluebell Vineyards in 2019. Heather has been a great supporter at any of our fund raising events over the years and we are grateful to her and BSI  for their kind support.

BSI Standards

Dominic and Juliet Langdon Down have been loyal supporters of the Foundation from the start and have held various fund raising events over the years plus been to many of our fund raising events. They have kindly donated some great promises for our Auctions including visits to Goodwood Festival of Speed events.  Also with the Rother Valley Riding Club have held events on their Cross Country course and donated to the EFF.  Dominic can turn his hand to most things and apart from his farm also builds outdoor arenas.

Bull Farm Contractors Kent

Built in 1722 by Sir Thomas Medley, Buxted Park's history is as colourful as it is long. Over the years, the house has played host to society's movers and shakers including William Wordsworth, Winston Churchill and Marlon Brando.
Buxted Park is a four star hotel in East Sussex, set in 312 acres of private grounds and parkland, which includes three large lakes and a deer park. Conveniently located in East Sussex near the Ashdown Forest and the famous Winnie the Pooh bridge, Tunbridge Wells and the coastal towns of Brighton and Eastbourne.

A wonderful donation of £3000 has been donated by Connie Kang in memory of her dear father who passed earlier this year.


A keen horseman Connie pays tribute to her late father:


" My father was a very kind person, kept himself low key, always willing to help young people pursue their dreams, supporting and participating in all kinds of seminars and team events. My inspiration and mentor...."


Very fitting we feel that his memory will help support our young riders.

Craig for many years was our official photographer and took many wonderful photos for us . Craig also kindly donated many photo shoots at our Auctions which were extremely popular . Craig now concentrates on his Wedding photography but we are very grateful for his valued support in the early years .

Derek who owned the Saddlery has been very generous over the years donating some lovely  double bridles for us to Auction and raffle . Now retired from the shop Derek attends most of our fund raising events and is a loyal supporter .

Dressage at Hickstead have kindly supported the Foundation over the years with Dane kindly donating two VIP tickets for the day at their CDI international show and also inviting children to come and visit the show ground and watch.  In 2007 Emile presented a cheque from the Foundation to Ebony Horse Club from Brixton in the International arena.  During the summer Hickstead usually hosts a London schools competition at Hickstead which involves some of the riding centres that the Foundation uses. We are very grateful to Dane and his team for their loyal support over the years.
